Gerard “Jerry” Kane

Originally from New Britain, Connecticut, Gerard graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, New Britain, Connecticut. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Math from The Citadel, Charleston, South Carolina and earned his MBA from The University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, North Dakota. Gerard is a Lt Col, USAF Retired. He served as a GS15 with the Defense Systems Information Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He also worked as an Insurance Broker, prior to becoming a Field Agent.  Gerard is also certified as a financial advisor. Gerard is married to his wife, Kathryn, who is an Insurance Broker. They currently reside in Oakland, Maryland and they have four adult children, Michelle (Ron) DeLurme (36), Abraham (Cassandra) Kane (34), Alexandra Mastors (26), and Nicole Mastors (22). They also have five grandchildren. Gerard and Kathryn are parishioners of St Peters Parish.  

His wife, Kathryn, youngest daughter, Nicole, and Gerard conducted an annual Right for Life Diaper Drive at Our Lady of the Fields Parish in Millersville from 2016 to 2023 that provided over 150,000 diapers for West Baltimore, Agape House Rocka-My-Baby crisis center.  In 2024 they turned the charity effort over to the local William E Baldwin Sr., Council.  In addition, they ran a Christmas Drive that acquired over 250 Christmas presents for inner city Baltimore children from 2018 to 2022.  That charity also continues under the direction of another couple. 

Gerard was a member of Archbishop Keough Council #5263 Odenton and William E. Baldwin Sr. Council in Millersville.  He is currently a member of St. Peters Council in Oakland and the membership director.
